Join Frontier Adventure Racing and Esprit Rafting this winter for an intensive week of adventure race training in the coastal mountain village of Jalcomulco, Mexico.

This tropical, all-inclusive adventure race training week will feature Lawrence Foster, one of North America’s top adventure racers, Trisha Westman, respected Canadian multi-sport athlete, and Geoff Langford, owner and race director of Frontier Adventure Racing.

An extensive adventure race training curriculum has been developed which focuses on the skills and knowledge required to complete your first race and/or take you to the next level in competitiveness. The “Week of Adventure” skills development week will feature workshops and certifications in navigation, ropes, wilderness first aid, flatwater and whitewater paddling techniques, swiftwater rescue, mountain biking and more! Taught by these internationally renowned veterans of adventure racing, along with the paddling and ropes experts of Esprit, you will be exposed to the tips, tricks and lessons learned from some of the biggest and most challenging events in the world.

Combine your training with an adventurous getaway and cultural experience! The idyllic mountain village of Jalcomulco is nestled in the Sierra Madre mountains, between Veracruz on the eastern coast and Mexico City, on the banks of one of the best whitewater rivers in Mexico, surrounded by pure wilderness, thrilling mountain bike trails, and nail-biting cliffs and gorges!

You will stay in a sprawling hacienda hosted by the Rodriguez family, eating traditional Mexican food and practicing your Spanish. The hacienda is very comfortable and clean, featuring an inner tropical courtyard, pool, hot showers and hammock bar. An air conditioned hotel option upgrade is also available.

Once you arrive in Veracruz, everything from your private transportation to your freshly prepared meals, hacienda style accommodation, professional instruction and guide services are all taken care of, so that you can concentrate on the purpose of your week in Mexico - train hard and have fun exploring Mexico!
